Ivo van Hove interprets Jean Cocteau.
The French poet, author, and filmmaker, Jean Cocteau wrote La Voix Humaine (The Human Voice) as a monologue in 1927.
To this day, it remains one of the world’s few great solo pieces written for a woman. Ivo van Hove revolutionizes this stunning play, which centers on one last desperate phone call to an ex-lover. It is expertly performed by one of the Netherlands’ most celebrated stage actresses, Halina Reijn, who recently appeared in the film Valkyrie.
